Of course it is... but I can not say what! HA HA HA HA!
I am sure that you are all dying to know about myself and my history.
Well...
I have been drawing since I was a small fertile meat child. With a young mind begging to learn and grow... You know… the usual thing. But I really started developing a passion for drawing when I was in the sixth grade. I made friends with artists who (at the time) were definitely better than I was but I was inspired by their work and I wanted to learn the trade. My desire grew as well as my skills and I had begun on the road to becoming a artist.
The hard part was trying to find my own style. My friends/ mentors each had a unique flair to their work. I had to experiment and find where my place was... I couldn’t really because they influenced me so much. It wasn’t until later when I started creating my own originality to my art.
When I hit high school I met MORE artists and befriended them. Not all of them showed their work visually. Some manipulated words and turned them into powerful and hypnotic sentences. Another made her magic with creatively turning pictures from magazines into beautiful collages with glitter and paint that was so expressive she made it original.
These people became my friends. And some of the visual artists watched me grow. They still do. Sometimes I was intimidated by some of the work that I saw because of the level of awesome that it was. But I was given constant words of encouragement and never taught how to draw certain things. Which sometimes is what I needed but I understand now why they didn't assist me when I needed it.
After graduating high school I waffled around by working for a couple years. Which was harder that it should have been. I did attend a semester of community college when I was 19 to build an attendance portfolio for the college of my dreams... Laguna College of Art and Design.
After I turned 20 I was accepted into LCAD and I could not have been happier. Now I had to save money to move down to California. This was a dream come true. Although I did not have a lot of money I arranged to come down to California to go to school.
And here I am... Only now I am not in school, I am poor as hell and I am just working at a little coffee shop trying to make my ends meat.
What the hell happened to my dream of going to LCAD? Well I did go and I discovered that it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. It's hard to get around with out a vehicle here, the town is smaller than the place that I moved from and the school reminded me too much like my old high school and well my financial aid didn't cover enough because I found out how much the school costed when I came down here. They didn’t seem to have a cost of attendance sheet on the school website at all. At least one that I could find right away.
So for four months I am stuck in Laguna Beach since I have the lease noose around my neck.
But after those four months are up I am hopping a plane back home and I will be attending Portland State University since they have animation and Japanese which is a language that I want to learn. My mind is finally made up and my long artist journey has just graced over the hill and a new dawn is approaching.
That was my life story (so far) in a nutshell. There are other things about me. Like the things I enjoy for example.
I love animated things. I am an animation fanatic. Most of my movie collection is of animated movies (good ones like Pixar and Dreamworks films). In fact it was a Pixar film that made me decide that I wanted to become a 3D character animator. I also enjoy Anime not just for the animation but I wish to learn Japanese so that I can travel to Japan at some point.
It’s obvious that I like drawing but I also enjoy painting as well. I like digital painted work too! I unfortunately don’t have much experience with that besides just coloring in pictures and playing with the various filters.
I love music. I often listen to music when I draw. In fact sometimes songs inspire the images to the point where it visualizes the song it’s self. My music collection is very eclectic I listen to a wide variety of things with some exceptions. I also enjoy playing my guitar and singing. I actually sing more than I play my guitar… >_<.
I am also a lover of video games. I’ve actually played Mario on the old NES (and I got an NES for my 20th birthday…) I like platformer games such as Tomb Raider and Jak and Daxter (which is my favorite series by the way). I occasionally play RPG’s but they REALLY have to catch my interest in order for me to play them though. If I am just leveling up all the time I’ll get bored and quit playing for months at a time. Much to my friends surprise as I told them that I have NEVER finished a Final Fantasy game… I am still waiting for the assassin to take away my pathetic unfulfilled life. I am a big fan of Guitar Hero and I have all the games for the PS2. I hate to brag being on expert… but I am on expert. I have been practicing to win some competitions... I also like survival horror games. My favorite series is Silent Hill which I have all the games. Even the PSP game (not experience though… it didn’t seem worth the money) I did hear a rumor that Zero is coming to the PS2... I do like Resident Evil 4. That is actually my favorite Resident Evil game. To me that is how a Resident Evil game should be played.
I do like my DS. I wish I had more games for it... I would love to have a Wii however since there are some awesome games coming out... such as Super Smash Brothers Brawl... I want to play that so bad...
I enjoy reading graphic novels/ comics/ Manga as well. I do read books without pictures… but sometimes I like to see the story visualized since I am such a visual person.
I enjoy JTHM and Squee to name a few. I also like Sandman, Fables, Transmetropolitan, Prometha, Lupin the Third, Lone Wolf and Cub, Lady Snow Blood, Spiderman, Hellboy… and many more!
I think that is all that I enjoy… about me personally you ask?
I am quiet and shy when first met. It takes me a little while to warm up to people but even still I don’t talk much because I try to be polite. I like to listen to conversations and occasionally I’ll interject. But I generally keep to myself. Until I really get to know people and then I won't shut up. Also if you get me on a topic that I know a lot about or something that I enjoy I will talk about it to no end. I actually suggest doing that since I do like to talk about what I enjoy to do and be a less of a listener... I am also a closet megalomaniac...
My mission… Well I would like to put my art up on this website. To display my self on anything BUT deviantart. Seriously. I left it because I was sick of all the BS and the popularity contests. It was annoying. So please enjoy your experiences here on my page.
